Surah An-Naba, verse 1
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

What are they asking one another about?
Surah An-Naba, verse 2
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
About the Great Event.
Surah An-Naba, verse 3
ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
About which they disagree.
Surah An-Naba, verse 4
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Surely, they will find out.
Surah An-Naba, verse 5
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Most certainly, they will find out.
Surah An-Naba, verse 6
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًۭا
Did We not make the earth a cradle?
Surah An-Naba, verse 7
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا
And the mountains pegs?
Surah An-Naba, verse 8
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا
And created you in pairs?
Surah An-Naba, verse 9
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًۭا
And made your sleep for rest?
Surah An-Naba, verse 10
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا
And made the night a cover?
Surah An-Naba, verse 11
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًۭا
And made the day for livelihood?
Surah An-Naba, verse 12
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًۭا شِدَادًۭا
And built above you seven strong ones?
Surah An-Naba, verse 13
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًۭا وَهَّاجًۭا
And placed a blazing lamp?
Surah An-Naba, verse 14
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءًۭ ثَجَّاجًۭا
And brought down from the clouds pouring water?
Surah An-Naba, verse 15
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا
To produce with it grains and vegetation?
Surah An-Naba, verse 16
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا
And luxuriant gardens?
Surah An-Naba, verse 17
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًۭا
The Day of Sorting has been appointed.
Surah An-Naba, verse 18
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًۭا
The Day when the Trumpet is blown, and you will come in droves.
Surah An-Naba, verse 19
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا
And the sky is opened up, and becomes gateways.
Surah An-Naba, verse 20
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
And the mountains are set in motion, and become a mirage.
Surah An-Naba, verse 21
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًۭا
Hell is lying in ambush.
Surah An-Naba, verse 22
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًۭا
For the oppressors, a destination.
Surah An-Naba, verse 23
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًۭا
Where they will remain for eons.
Surah An-Naba, verse 24
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًۭا وَلَا شَرَابًا
They will taste therein neither coolness, nor drink.
Surah An-Naba, verse 25
إِلَّا حَمِيمًۭا وَغَسَّاقًۭا
Except boiling water, and freezing hail.
Surah An-Naba, verse 26
جَزَآءًۭ وِفَاقًا
A fitting requital.
Surah An-Naba, verse 27
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًۭا
For they were not anticipating any reckoning.
Surah An-Naba, verse 28
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًۭا
And they denied Our signs utterly.
Surah An-Naba, verse 29
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًۭا
But We have enumerated everything in writing.
Surah An-Naba, verse 30
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
So taste! We will increase you only in suffering.
Surah An-Naba, verse 31
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
But for the righteous there is triumph.
Surah An-Naba, verse 32
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًۭا
Gardens and vineyards.
Surah An-Naba, verse 33
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًۭا
And splendid spouses, well matched.
Surah An-Naba, verse 34
وَكَأْسًۭا دِهَاقًۭا
And delicious drinks.
Surah An-Naba, verse 35
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًۭا
They will hear therein neither gossip, nor lies.
Surah An-Naba, verse 36
جَزَآءًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًۭا
A reward from your Lord, a fitting gift.
Surah An-Naba, verse 37
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًۭا
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them-The Most Merciful-none can argue with Him.
Surah An-Naba, verse 38
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّۭا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًۭا
On the Day when the Spirit and the angels stand in row. They will not speak, unless it be one permitted by the Most Merciful, and he will say what is right.
Surah An-Naba, verse 39
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
That is the Day of Reality. So whoever wills, let him take a way back to his Lord.
Surah An-Naba, verse 40
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا
We have warned you of a near punishment-the Day when a person will observe what his hands have produced, and the faithless will say, "O, I wish I were dust."
